11. Do not carry a balance
Do not believe in the myth that carrying a balance will help you boost your credit score. In reality, this is not the case. Paying your credit card each month promptly is what builds your credit record. You can do this through two methods. You can either pay off the highest interest rate card first, or you can first pay the card that has the lowest interest rate. Make sure that either way, you need to pay a lump sum amount on the planned card and the minimum amount on other cards.
