VantageScore gets to be part of the exception, when it comes to credit scores that lenders use to make their credit decisions. The three major bureaus came together in 2006, to create this scoring model. Lenders have found the VantageScore relevant enough to use for the other 10% of the credit scoring market, since the calculations come directly from credit bureau information. The VantageScore is also great for people that have brand new credit. This is because the new model only requires one month of credit history, while most credit scoring models require a credit history length of at least 6 months.
