15. Burt Reynolds
Burt Reynolds applied for Chapter 11 in 1996. At this time, he owed over $11.2 million in debt because of a few bad investments in real estate, an unsuccessful restaurant venture, and a pricey divorce from his wife, Loni Anderson. During this time, the Boogie Nights star was nearly $10 million in debt. Again, in 2011, a foreclosure lawsuit was filed against Reynolds’s Florida estate by the Merrill Lynch Credit Corporation.
