11. Demand for your rights
Credit card companies prefer to keep their existing clients over attracting new ones. Of course, everyone wants to get new clients, but not at the cost of their current customers. So, use this strategy as your benefit. If you are a long time customer or you tend to carry a balance, then you will have an added advantage. Call customer service representative and ask for things like annual fee waiver, occasional concessions, extended introductory rate, low interest rate, late fee cancellations, etc. It’s just a matter of little efforts on your part and you will not even know what all you can gain through this.
